Default ESS Raven - Upscale

Just thought I'd share some pictures of my latest project.
The rockets built now all I need to do is paint and do the decals.

Enjoy, Mark

Okay Mark....gonna provide any particulars? How much of an upscale? When are you kitting? I think that was the only Centuri kit I ever owned (pre-BAR). Would like to build again without the fiber board.

Hi Don,
You can stop twisting Loretta's arm any time now ... already got approval to kit this.

As for the particulars it's a 143% upscale, weighs 21.9 ounces as is un-finished (this includes the 4.5 ounces of nose weight just to make sure) , and is approx 44.5 inches long, 2.34 diameter, 15 inch wing span & has a 29MM motor mount.

Got a few bugs to work out before it is kitted like vacuum forming to make the canopy & need to figure out the best way to do the air in-lets along the sides as they are so long. The wings and tail assembly are basswood where everything is balsa.

Haven't flown it yet but I let you know how it goes when I do.

Mark

Building a 1:1 was on my build list, but an upscale is much better. I hope the test flight goes well Mark. That will make a sweet kit!

It sure would make a nice kit! Would go very nicely with the Bomarc!

Last weekend we got to test fly the Super ESS Raven. It was a picture perfect flight. We flew it on a Aerotech F40 with a 5 second delay (had to custom the delay).

I didn't get many pics of this in fligh but Warren Benson got some and you can see them in the clubs Flicker Album - ESS Raven Along with photos of the other 3 prototypes we flew.

Enjoy,
Loretta

Hi Loretta,
The Flickr link doesn't work. I'm a Flickr member, so I just went and typed in ESS Raven, hoping to see the pics.
In short, if you type "ESS Raven" into Flickr, you get pictures of crossdressers/transvestites. Just thought y'all might like to know.
