Default Walter Senoski, RIP

Art Nestor posted to the Old Rockets email list:

Walter Senoski, founder of Kopter Rockets and located in Pittsburgh, Pa in the 1970's, passed away on Monday, August 1st. His obituary can be found here: http://www.saloom-rega.com/.

Robert Casares adds:

I was saddened to see the email with the link to the obituary for Art Senoski this morning.

I found this link to a 2013 newspaper article while searching for more info on Koptor Recovery brand rockets. Looks like there were some very interesting looking models there.

Regards!

I hope his wife considers donating his models to the big collection in Seattle.

Sad news indeed.

At one point Walt was going to bring Kopter Rockets back. Carl was the one to announce it about 4 years ago.

Hi Scott;

Walt did bring back the company, although on a somewhat limited basis. Art covered Walter's story in this issue of our club newsletter:

I met him at NARAM a couple of years ago and bought a couple of his models. Very nice man.

I bought three kits of him about 3 years ago...he was a great guy in our exchange. I always though about buying more, but his website had gone black and I figured that since he was very old he was probably done with kits...

God Bless Mr. Senoski.

BTW, the kits were/are as retro as can be, beautiful!

I remember meeting him and his Pterosaur; unfortunately didn't get any kits...
