Rocketpad Kits?
I've been told that the Pimp Daddy Rocketry clones are nice. Does anyone have experience with the Rocketpad clone kits? I'm leery of a "company" that doesn't have a website nor offers photos of their actual kits.

I built one of his Astron Invader clones a few years ago and it was fine. I think he just does this as an Ebay sideline, not a major undertaking of any kind. It was a little pricey, but not terribly so and I'll probably give him another try someday when I can buy things again. No problems with the quality or service. I've got a review partially finished for this rocket. I'll have to dig it out and finish it.

I have built a Rocketpad Astron Ranger Clone and an Astron Cobra clone.
The kits were nice, but I have one complaint about them; the original kits each had two chutes; these are kits supplied with one and the quality of the chute is lower than the average Estes chute if you can believe it. A plus for the kits are included decals, which the originals did not have.

Rocketpad Kits
I have several Rocketpad kits that I have received over the last few years. I found them to be rather good. I have no problem with the supplied mylar parachutes. Most of the chutes in their kits are from Aerospace Speciality Products(ASP) They sure seem better that the plastic Estes type. There were some problems with their early kits but the co was sold in I think in late 2003 or so & the quality is now as good as any small vender. Their original kits are also good. I just picked up on ebay their new Hellfire kit. the parts are nice and include Basswood fins and plywood centering rings. Will report on how it flys I hope next week if the rain ever stops!
