In another recent thread I mentioned rediscovering a box of rockets my parents sent me shortly after we moved to the Seattle area (over 30 years ago now!). In that box were 11 rockets of mine from my high school days (or older) including mostly originals. Three of them were kit models - an Estes Star Blazer and an Estes Constellation. This latter has never been flown.

Also unflown, and also unidentified, is a Centuri kit - probably the only one I ever owned. I know it's Centuri because it says so on the parachute and also it has the heavier-duty #7 body tube compared to an Estes BT-20. It's just short of 16 inches tall, has four fins and is set up with parachute recovery. It has an engine hook for the standard size 18mm diameter engines.

So, your mission is to identify it for me if you can. It's shown here between the Star Blazer and the Constellation for size reference. Anything else you may know (how well it flies - though it surely has plenty of fin but is otherwise pretty low-drag) would be nice to know, too.

In looking at the pictures of Centuri rockets I could find I came to the same conclusion - it looks like a Payloader II, but I don't know why I would've not used the payload bay, and there's the diameter thing....it's not 1.0 but 0.7 inches in diameter. I think I even looked at that scanned Centuri catalog linked-to above.

So, the mystery is still a mystery so far.
