Agm-164 "Junkyard Dog!?!
YEP! Thats right...doesnt exsist..... but i like so many of the K-9 named missiles, i thought id take a buncha parts that were layin around in my junkbox and see what would happen!! Its kind of a mix of Pit Bull, Bull Dog, and Bull Pup.....the lower fins were reshaped from a crashed Big Daddy, the tail cone was machined from a scrap piece of 3003 aluminum barstock, its VERY thin and fairly light....Body tube is from Semroc, and the nose cone is from Estes. It will fly (HOPEFULLY) on D/E power....maybe this weekend! Hey Chris, if you read this, ive got one of yer 'chutes in 'er! Thanks man!!

Thanks guys! The maiden didnt go so well ! Learned a good lesson about .........STABILITY!! It left the pad, climbed to maybe 12-15 feet, and started the classic end over end tumble.....to my amazement when i picked up what i thought to be remains...it didnt have a scratch on it, no stress cracks....NOTHIN! Thats why i build em with epoxy! Time to take the time to make sure it will be stable for the next launch!! Lesson learned!

Hi Bill, Sorry to hear about the stability problems, that's a good looking design. The forward fins are contributing to the problem. Add a length of tubing to the front end and if needed some nose weight, you should be good to go! It'll be good next time out. Save the parachute!
