Isn't this a promotional still from the forthcoming movie "Honey, I Shrunk the Rocketeer"?

Where's the booster? Have fun this weekend, Doug! Say, I've heard rumors that Buzz McD is moving to MN. Do you know if that's true?

Gimme time, gimme time :) Seriously, I have plans to do a 2.6" or 3" diameter upscale with booster, but the 4" is KISS so I had to forego the booster. In fact, I have a 2.2" diameter upscale now that I'm still trying to figure out how to make work (AP booster to BP sustainer) . If'n I can ever get around to working out the electronics, I hope to put them in a bay along the root of one of the booster fins and light the sustainer from there, but it will still be motor ejection - for both stages. As it is now, it only flies single stage. The 2.6" or 3" will have electronic ejection in the sustainer. That way, even it if it doesn't light, it still has a chance to recovery safely. The problem is the lack of space. You can't put an in-line electronics bay in a scale Midget. Instead, the electronics need to be mounted either in the standard payload space of the airframe, or in the nosecone, or maybe in a bay between the rings in the fin can, but the last idea exposes it to dirty air which can fool the baro altimeters. I'll post an article when I get it figured out. Quote:

I'm a righty, but my wife has said the same thing to me many times. BUT SERIOUSLY FOLKS! Fair skies, Doug. If you get weather that's anything like what we're expecting it should be a great day.
