29mm case dia
I need somebody to place a caliper on a 29mm reload case (not the consumer case). I need this in .002 or so precision. (standard or metric units are fine)
Thanks in advance! Grimracer |

Every case will vary, but they should vary within the tolerance range shown on the Engineering Drawings:
http://www.aerotech-rocketry.com/resources.aspx?id=7 The dimension shown is a 3-place dimension of 1.125 inches and the tolerance shown for a 3 place dimension on the drawings is +/- .005 inches. A telephone call or e-mail to Aerotech will confirm if this is indeed correct. Of course, this is the diameter measured at any point along the length. There may be other tolerance for the waviness of the tube over a certain length. No idea what version of ANSI Y14.5M is used (if any). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geomet...and_tolerancing Aren't you glad you asked?

Nice paint job. Your post on TRF states the model is a NCR by Estes Eliminator. Those kits used a motor mount tube which had an inside diameter smaller than 29mm so that only the NCRBE F62 DarkStar motors (28.5mm diameter) would fit. I replaced these motor mount tubes in my NCRBE kits with 'true' 29mm I.D. tubing. Have a good flight! Bob |

Right you are Bob..
What I did was laser cut a mandrel and put in some 60g sand paper.. Sanding flapper wheel if you will.. I also made a sizing slug sized to 1.235"(because I don’t have my 29mm case yet). (other then my consumer case) As is goes the hand made flapper wheel really hogs material and it only took about 2 mins to get it sized. Thanks Grimracer let me show you my rearend.. so to speek |

Spectacularly shiny finish visible in the video and insanely straight flight.

Thanks.. I think the spin might have been brought on by the camara.. Not sure I can get that out or not.. maybe I will just not worry about it.
Thanks again Grimracer |
