Yuri's Night 2015
Just a reminder that Yuri's Night is next Sunday (not this Sunday . . .). So launch something Russian and celebrate man leaving the planet for the first time.
This year, joining my old Vostok and Soyuz, I have Wolverine, SAM-3 and Sputnik. Wind permitting, I going to try and meet my NARTREK Bronze requirements with some vintage oldies. Should be fun.

Well Crap,
Today is Yuri's Day and I gotta tell you this is the first time in my life I can ever recall having to scrub a launch because of rain. Rain in El Paso? Really? Oh, Well. At least I have a bunch of rockets loaded and ready to go next week . So I hope you launch something Russian (and post some pictures).

Just launch in the next open 'window' !

Today is also first flight anniversary of the shuttle back in 1981. Was on a Sunday then also (Master's Sunday for us Augustan's....it's also Master's Sunday this year too.). I remember being quite nervous watching that first launch on TV....just was not sure it was going to fly right.....first time the entire stack had even been tested. Young and Crippen had guts to do what they did.
Hard to believe the shuttle's last flight is coming up on nearly four years ago. Earl

No launches today, but I did start my first rocket build of the year:
I sanded the fins, slotted the body tube, and installed the motor mount of my Estes "Scion."
