Default LTV Scout, The Unsung Hero of Space

Scott, I'm not sure if you have ever seen this one.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6D-GHiRK0g

I've always liked the LTV Scout but I never realized it was this good.

I especially like the launch platform the Italians came up with in international waters in the Indian ocean off of Kenya.

The LTV Scout kit #1287 with "ITALIA" on the side wasn't one round, it was one of 7 the Italians launched.

Ooh, at the start, there are several brief clips of the NACA RM-2. The only color source I had before was a text reference that the models were all orange. But the film shows them as orange with red wings and black fins! Whee!!! New scale data! I'll have to fix my drawings!

I've always wanted to see a detailed picture of the logo on top of this version.

Still somewhat fuzzy but shown at 20:03 in the film:

Thanks for the link, Gordy. I enjoyed the film.

Thanks, that's the best view of the emblem I've ever seen. I've searched & searched for this in the past.

That Scout round was a big deal at Wallops. I used to have several Wallops write-ups on that launch (lost in the course of multiple moves), and Betty Flowers at the PAO there likely has material on that round.

Been awhile since I`ve been here, and very glad to be back.

Great post Gordy (it`s me, Paul T or sodmeister from ...you know where LOL)

I was fortunate enough to get one of your LTV Scout kits several years ago ,and a great kit it was.You also sold me an Estes LTV Scout kit, still bagged and needing to get built.

As a matter of fact ,I`m almost finished your Nike Hercules kit(the BIG one) and am having a grand time building it.Man I was lucky to get that kit ,and count my lucky stars I did ...when I did !!

Cheers

Paul T
