If by that you mean the Q2G2 then the answer is no.

the Q2G2's were not "made" by Quest, but by their motor vendor in China. The vendor will not deliver the igniters without a similar motor purchase, and since Quest is no longer purchasing motors from them, Quest will not be able to obtain the igniters.

If you mean the Q2G2, the answer is “no”. I think Gary said the company wanted to sell motors too, and not just igniters.

But the Q-jets have the First Fire Micros included. (I think they are called Micros.). They look similar to the First Fires that come with the 24mm reloads, just smaller.

I flew a C12-6 in an Estes BT-55 rocket with a plastic fin unit and 1/4 turn twist lock retainer cap. The nozzle was recessed about 1/4”. Fast ignition, perfect flight, delay time right on, and no damage to fin unit, not even any soot on it.

I did not try a D16 since I did not have a rocket with me that I thought was sized for a D.

The Q-Jets are fun little motors.

GH would say an Estes Streak is sized for an 18mm D.

In a large field, painted fluorescent orange, yes an Astron Streak is an appropriate carrier of an 18mm D. I have done it. Got it back too. Aerotech SU D10. Was probably 20 years ago.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Let me clarify my comment. It was 97° and I did not want to walk very far. You know, old age.

The day I flew the C12, the winds aloft were going north. There are canyons north of the launch site. The story was told that last year the president of SCORE (host club for this NARAM) did not take comm gear of any kind, nor water, and got lost for an hour in the canyon. I flew a Mammoth on an F15, and it flew nicely, but winds quickly carried it toward the canyon. Some kind soul retrieved it. I saw the glint of sun off the gold body and headed his way. It’s easy to lose your bearings there due to a lack of landmarks, and you quickly get into little pines that block any view of the launch area.

That said, it’s a fantastic launch site. And lots of improvements were made for NARAM.

Even the worst site would be fantastic when you get to tour Estes Industries!

I flew a D16-8 Q-Jet in an Estes Make-It & Take-It and it fit perfectly, ignited instantly and flew absurdly high. It was recovered with zero damage to the parachute or shock cord (or anything else).

The new instructions are excellent and cover the new initiator installation technique and recommended max liftoff weights for each motor and each delay time. Consumers who read and follow these weights will be pleased. Experienced flyers may try them in heavier models if drag is low and there is no wind.
