Default Wallops book online!

Hello All,

I just found that a great source of scale data--Joseph Adams Shortal's 1978 book titled "A New Dimension--Wallops Island Flight Test Range: The First Fifteen Years"--is now online as a PDF scan (see: https://ntrs.nasa.gov/archive/nasa/...19790011995.pdf )! Also:

Many photographs from Richard Morrow's book "Small Sounding Rockets" are online *here* (see: http://www.aeroconsystems.com/liter...ing_rockets.htm ). His book--which will, hopefully, be re-printed soon--covers many rare sounding rockets and meteorological rockets.

I hope this material will be helpful.

You're welcome! I knew about Richard Morrow's book (I lost my copy when I moved to my apartment--grrr...), but I was just looking up the exact title of Joseph Adams Shortal's Wallops book yesterday; I never thought I'd come across a PDF scan of the entire work!

Fantastic!

I have a hardbacked copy of this book that my dad got as an employee at Wallops.

I purchased a copy on Ebay of the sounding rocket book lately. If it will be reprinted there is no reason to scan it. Perhaps a reason to help capitalise the reprint.

I tried to capitalise the MIT book but I understand there is a pdf of that without the correction notes.

Wow--the only two printed copies of Shortal's Wallops book that I've seen were both paperback editions. Another good thing about his book is that it lists the many N.A.C.A. and NASA reports that he used as references, and a lot of them contain still more scale data.

Were you referring to Richard Morrow's book "Small Sounding Rockets?"

Ah--Thank you. I've never read it, but G. Harry Stine mentioned it in his "Handbook of Model Rocketry."
