Can Somebody set me straight with Centuri KC-5
Centuri made their KC-5 Astrobee 350 from 1965 to 1975. I have pics. I have seen the catalogs. Carl has it listed in the Semroc Database. I'm pretty sure it is not a figment of my imagination.
The 1971 Centuri catalog lists KC-5 as the Aerobee 350. Such a name does not occur for Centuri in the Semroc database. I thought it might be a typo but, if so, it is repeated several times including in the BIG print on page 27. The data given is close enough that it might be the same (rounding error) but it is not exactly the same. Can somebody set me straight?

Ninfinger say's it's the Astrobee 350 until 1970. After that, it disappears and the Areobee 350 shows up. Both are Kit KC-5? John, I saw you post on the other forum. Don't know what to tell ya, except nice catch.

Bob Craddock once told me about this and knew the reason or at least had an explanation. I don't think he posts on here but I can ask him about it.

Wonder if it had anything to do with name trademark issues, possibly? BTW, for about the first time I've ever seen, one of these Centuri kits is listed on ebay tonight. It's a 'roll pattern' package design, which would date it to the late 60s to very early 70s. This one has a balsa cone, so for Centuri that would put it approximately before summer 1970. Earl

See this post for more info.
The Centuri Astrobee 350 changed over the years. There never was an Astrobee 350 in real life that resembled the early Centuri model. Someone must have noticed around 1970 and changed the name to Aerobee 350, except it did not look like that either. In any case, we released a 1:1 scale model of the early Centuri version of a non-existent rocket (according to Peter.)

Well it looks like you got your answer, that's probably the same story I was told but Carl no doubt tells it better
