Default Something up with Aerotech?

So I’ve been waiting for weeks on my Q-Jet order - sent an email to customer support and got back a nebulous “they are shipping” message with no date on when mine would ship. Also, 24 mm single use composites like the F32 seem out of stock everywhere.

All this makes me wonder if Aerotech can handle the demand. Anyone have any insight?

Recently posted something similar regarding Hobbylinc. They show no Aerotech stock on anything now for some time. Not sure what's up.

That might be a Hobbylinc thing. Other more rocketry-oriented vendors seem to have motors in stock.

Also new product development might have created a cash crunch. The investment of taking all those new motors from idea to product probably wasn't cheap. Just a guess.....

In that same vein, what I was thinking is that making up a batch of F32's, a kinda-sorta fringe motor, might be a slow return investment that's not a good choice during slow times or when money is tight.

F32 motor would be out of stock because MANY MANY TARC teams used them in large quantities and they bought as many as they could get - with many purchases made at the last minute during the qualification period.

Without ordering months in advance, they simply overwhelmed the supply available with their huge demand. If Aerotech had thousands of them sitting around, then they could be restocked by any retailers who re-ordered them. I doubt there were any left sitting around.

More will be made. All is well and all will be well in the garden.

I didn't need the youtube link I'm pretty sure you're channeling Chauncy, IIRC (Peter Sellers' character). Great flick.

RIP, Peter.

I contacted Hobbylinc a few months ago, since I have ordered kits and reloads from them in the past, but the weekly sales notices via email have consistently showed basically nothing available for reloads. (I am always looking for 29/40-120 and 24/40 reloads.)

The quick response I got was not heartening. The rep basically told me they must not be able to get them from their distributor. Nothing in terms of they would check to see if the situation was being looked into, at least to make me feel like I ought to keep checking their email sales notices. I unsubscribed from their emails, they are basically worthless to me at this point, and no apparent interest in resolving the situation, or providing at least some explanation.

Q jets are here!

Arrived today to PA. I ordered the first day they were on the quest site. Gorgeous packaging. 2 pounds of thrust on in a instant plus near full impulse so will be a different experience.
