Default Ye Olde Rocket Forum Rocket (freebie)

Hello Everyone,

Awhile back I contacted Scott about doing a special design project. The project has been completed.

The following photo shows my most recent design. If everything goes right, I plan to upload the PDF file for the rocket and then using photos to create a build thread on how to make it.

For now it is a Stomp Rocket. With some help, it might be converted to using motors.

Anyway here is a photo of the completed Alpha Build. Graphics have been changed, and a few minor issues have been fixed.

Rocket fuselage is 26" long before fins were added
2.77" Diameter at the widest section
28" long ready to fly
2.4 Ounces total weight.

Best regards,
Mike Bauer

Default Here is The Rocket PDF File to Download

Here is the PDF file. Open it and then save to your computer.

I'll start a build thread as time allows.

PDF file has 13 pages. If you decide to build this rocket, best to use Index 110# cardstock. Using the Index 110lb will allow for the best build as all parts are fit tested to the thickness of 110#. [198gsm].

Cover cardstock is thicker, vellum Bristol not thick enough. Please use Index 110#. Print ACTUAL SIZE; no scaling. It should print ok on A4 size using the actual size setting too.

Below is the file.

Quick heads up:
1) Dotted lines are cut lines
2) Dashed lines are fold lines.
3) Dotted lines inside of a part should only be cut after the part has been formed.
4) Funny dashed lines will go away when the PDF is printed.

Questions? Feel free to ask away, I'll respond as soon as I can.

Mike

You could make it rear eject and maintain the entire rest of it as designed. Like a Sky Dart does.

Or you could use a deployment "cannon" (one tube that slides over another), one part on bottom and one part on top with a lot of overlap in lieu of wadding, which would double as a coupler and allow the entire inside volume to hold a rather large parachute. That way you could fly it with 18mm motors comfortably.
