Return of FSI?
So, no comment from anyone here about the photos from over the weekend, posted on Facebook, of the old FSI supplies and equipment, that have apparently been purchased from the Reeses' by some members of KCAR for the purposes of resurrecting FSI??

I remember both the AVI products and the MPC products. We were dealers for both. I do think it possible there was only one or two runs of B3-5m motors (and B3-3m) reordering those always had a stock in condition, where some of the others had a waiting time once or twice. MPC was one of our more popular sellers.
We bought every size of AVI motor from 1/8A-F and the interesting thing to me was the build quality was very consistent and the sheer variety of sizes was amazing. So they were clearly targeting an aspect ratio in the design. Also many of them had the delay charge glued in in a smaller tube. That would be helpful for short run larger motors. MPC, AVI, FSI and other BP motors of the time were often no better than about 90% reliability. Even Estes first generation motors like the D13 and E15 were similarly of modest reliability. Seeing the stuff be saved from the dumpster makes me happy. The fact that didn't happen at Vern's house is sickening. Jerry |

Dave Bucher just posted this on the OldRockets mailing list today:
I and my partner have purchased what is left of Flight Systems Inc. and will relaunch first kits...the ones available in 1994 when the company ceased production and we intend to do our best to get the production of the 21mm and 27mm motors and also the APC composite motors they sold over the years to specialty customers. We also intend to expand the kit line into NARcomp MY style with fiberglass competition models that I've been engineering over the years. More later! Dave Bucher

Hopefully, they can get better distribution this time around. FSI wasn't available in my neck of the woods, except by mail order. .

Dave Bucher did tell me they did NOT buy the 18mm and 13mm machines (or what's left of them).
