Default Mike Dorffler passing

...just a short note to advise the rocket community that Mike Dorffler passed away today, Sept. 7th, 2010 at 9:31 am. He passed away peacefully at home with his family beside him.
He will be missed by all...god's speed Mike.
Respectfully,
Mike Fritz

That is such sad news...I had heard he was in good spirits at NARAM this year.
We have lost a truly GREAT member of the rocketry community.
I'm sure he is enjoying the great flying field up in the sky though...

My condolences and prayers to Mike's family and friends.

As I got back into the hobby this year, being able to read all of his posts here on YORF, about the history of Estes and model rocketry, was a lot of fun. He was a key contributor to the hobby, and he'll be missed by many.

RIP Mike. My sincerest sympathies and best wishes to his family and friends.

While you'll be missed here, I'm sure you're delighting in the beautiful new views of the Earth from "up there".
