3D printers
Has anyone had the opportunity to mess around with a 3D printer? I read this article on Gizmodo and all I could think about was that this thing would be a freaking cool thing to fabricate rocket parts and details.
I want one. Last edited by gilatrout : 11-07-2008 at 10:04 AM. Reason: grammar |

Man, I wish I could!
I had the oportunity a few years ago on my trip to Huntsville, Al with my SLI team (SLI is the next sep after TARC) to see what NASA is doing with this. One printer uses thin layers of metal, one uses powdered metal and the one that uses powdered plastic was freakin' amasing! I want one of those and a laser cutter! Santa, are you listening?

I understand that Estes has one of these for prototyping.
