I especially like the rocket-as-table-centerpiece photo! If I tried setting the table like that, my wife would look at it and drop a bowl of mashed potatos on it! This gives me an idea though! Take two late model mosquitos (with the plastic nose cones) and drill three small holes in the tip of each one and put a solid disk in the bottom and you'd have wonderful salt and pepper shakers! Then wrap them nicely and give them to your wife for your anniversary. I hear Motel 6 is pretty nice to lay low in...

That's the kind of thing that you can get away with if you have some time at home in the afternoon before she gets home. I'm constantly being reprimanded for allowing my rocket projects to stray out of the basement or computer room. Go figure.

Anyone know the length of the Challenger 1's body tube? 9.5"?
Thanks very much!

I remember in the case of the Kadet, the plastic nose cone came in two halves that had to be cemented together. |

To elaborate on the quoted kit list above, there are two distinctively separate fin cans in use. The Challenger 1, Star Trek, Star Wars Proton Torpedo, and Kadet used a retangle shaped fin with a slight diamond airfoil. The Sky Writer #2 uses the same can as the Generic E2X, which has a slightly swept leading edge and a wedge airfoil. Sitting side beside they look quite different. Standing alone, only nuckleheads like me would probably notice.
As for the other kits in the list, I've never seen them in person, so I can't say which fin can is used. .

I have 2 original Scorpions I built as kits. Both have the diamond-airfoil fin units used in the Challenger-1 and Kadet. What is really weird about the two is one has the Orange-colored units of the Challenger-1 and the other has the Black-color-molded Kadet units. I do know I built the one with the orange fin units first. May have been early production using orange that switched to black later in the run.

If anyone is interested, I have placed a crude scan of the Challenger 1 instructions (with parts list) here:
