Default After the Beatles.

I listen to a online show each weekend called Beatles Brunch. Joe Johnson produces it. Anyway, they play all of the music the Beatles did before, during and after the Beatles.
Today they played a song from John Lennon to Yoko Ono after the Beatles break up.
Is it me or did John Lennon's voice change? It sounds higher in range and tenner.
It almost sounds like he inhaled helium? IDK.

Helium didn't cause that. Yoko removed a pair of something from him and put them in a jar on the mantle.

I'm told that Asian women do that sometimes.

John did almost all his vocals (both in the Beatles and after) via double-tracking (either real, or via electronic delay), because he was so insecure about his voice. Once he was beyond George Martin's influence, he added more echo. That caused the tinnier sound, but his range was about the same.

I can't blame him. He went from having Paul, George and Ringo harmonizing with him beautifully.....to OH, NO Yoko!

For those that are interested and who might have missed it, Geoff Emerick's book (recording engineer for many Beatles albums at EMI) from about five years ago is a great read with many interesting insights into the Beatles, including Yoko's presence at some of the latter sessions before their breakup.

Geoff was responsible for much of the Beatles 'sound' back in the day.
