One important reason to me for attending NARAMs is the Canon Auction. Donated items are auctioned off and the money is used for teacher grants by the NAR.
Sometimes, you discover interesting items. Tonight, at the NARAM auction, was a small plastic model of a Little Joe II. It did not attract much attention but I knew what it was. The bidding on this item was low and was about to end when I put in a bid almost twice the current bid. I won the item. It turns out the item was a pristine COX Little Joe II. No packaging or instructions but it did have the motor retainer clip. Quite a good deal in my book for $40.

You can get some great deals at those auctions. I heard our once club donated a pristine, shrink wrapped Estes Pershing 1A that went for $80. Wish I was there!
