Default WFF launch on 6/29!

Hello All,

A Terrier-Improved Malemute sounding rocket carrying multiple vapor-release payloads (which will “paint the sky” in multiple colors, see: http://www.space.com/17933-nasa-tel...e-space-tv.html and http://www.nasa.gov/feature/wallops...ic-coast-may-31 ) is scheduled for launch tomorrow morning (Thursday, June 29) sometime between 4:25 AM and 4:48 AM EDT (8:25 and 8:48 GMT [Greenwich Mean Time]) at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia. The backup launch date is Friday, June 30. (The Space.com article that is linked-to above also includes a video of a Terrier-Improved Orion sounding rocket that was launched from Wallops on June 22.) Also:

The Terrier-Improved Malemute flight will be covered live online on NASA TV and on the NASA Wallops Ustream (see: http://www.nasa.gov/centers/wallops...g_launches.html ), with the pre-launch coverage beginning at 4:15 AM (8:15 GMT). For those who live within a few hundred miles of Wallops Island, the chemical releases will be spectacular! (From the Blue Ridge Mountains of northern Georgia in the late 1970s or early 1980s, I saw barium releases from sounding rockets that were fired from the U.S. Air Force’s sounding rocket launch facility at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.)

Default Mission success!

The mission was a success, and ended just a few minutes ago. A video of the launch, with onboard payload camera views (which can be viewed in full-screen mode) can be seen both *here* http://www.space.com/17933-nasa-tel...e-space-tv.html and (on NASA-TV Wallops—other mission videos are also available on this site) *here* http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/105262720 .
