Do not under estimate the value of a little engineering in any product which will be replicated.

Wouldn't that work be done right along with the creation of the design and prototype? I would figure the engineering work would be to replicate everything needed for the builder to create the end product.

Is it common in the hobby for designers who just design and then pass things over to others to figure it all out?
Frank,

Not in my experience. Carl at Semroc told me I'd have to write the instructions, which I thought was only fair.

Unfortunately, having that hanging over my head for several months was kind of a bummer. The good news is that once you've done it, you figure out what *not* to do... Like not writing them completely from scratch!

In the end, the Tau Zero instructions were very much a collaboration, since my drawing skills aren't really all that great. *But* if I ever did it again, I would want them to be as complete as possible.

As somebody else said, having two or three beta testers is HIGHLY important in helping you find embarrassing mistakes or just unnecessarily complicated assembly steps (thank you Chan Stevens and Anna Graff for help on the SLS Prometheus), by being able to "take a step back" from writing instructions.

I honestly had not seen that one before and now I need one! Very cool!

And that Tau Zero is another great looking rocket, with exceptionally well written instructions I might add!

Exactly the same here. My rocket funds are pretty limited and I want the best results possible, so I do the same thing with every kit on my wish list or that I stumble across on deep discount.
