Default My latest restoration.

I found this saw while cleaning out my father in law's garage.

It was extremely dirty and abused.

But it's better now.

And it saws fantastic. The teeth are very sharp. I don't think is was ever used. Just abandoned.

The screwdrivers weren't too bad, Mostly just dirty.

The tiny screw driver in the upper right is less than 4" long and believe it or not it has a ratcheting mechanism.

Very ingenious.

I had one of those. Gave it away. It made a nice conservation piece.

Did anybody notice the wood handled screwdriver in the upper left?

New contest.

The prize is my undying gratitude.

Does anybody know what that screwdriver is called and the history of that design?

It is all metal (steel) from tip to heal, with just enough wood on each side for a handle, very heavy duty and very tuff!

OK, playing Jeopardy theme....

Hint...just about everybody has or had one at some time, someplace.

Very common and not real valuable but worth a lot to some people.

Nope, that's not it.

Honestly at least half of American homes have had one or two or a whole set of these screwdrivers.

They are actually a big part of this country's history.

OK, that's my opinion but after all this is the Free for all section.

C'mon, Somebody should know this.

My guess: a "perfect handle" screwdriver?

Wife's guess: a cabinet maker's screwdriver?
