Default Rocket motor sources

I just had a customer send me an order from Colombia, and he's looking for a source of rocket motors. Does anyone know how he might obtain them? It's been easy sending products to Europe since they have the 10.5 mm motors there, but I don't know anything about the rocket situation in South America.

Jerry, I'm a little slow here it seems. What do you mean? The goal here is for a customer to locate someone in country who can supply him with rocket motors of A series or lower power. Do you know of any?

No but for someone to import them someone has to export them first. Motors D and smaller are 1.4S and the process to ship them by Fedex or whatever is fairly expensive and detailed. I suggest asking CTI or Aerotech to export them to Columbia and see what happens.

I thought I read something not too long ago about rocket motors being made in South America. Not finding it right now though.

Asociación de CoheterÃ*a Experimental y Modelista Argentina has a web site here http://www.rocket.com.ar/ including a forum; might be worth asking there.

SkyTec in Argentina makes motors and a number of nice kits.

http://www.cohetes-skytec.com.ar/

They make a number of very nice kits (below). I have tried to purchase these kits direct from Argentina in the past without success. If anyone discovers a way, please let me know.

Hah. I like this graphic:

Looks like they have only C8 and D16 motors, though.

I contacted the company through their Facebook page. With the help of my rusty high school Spanish and an on-line translator, I was able to get the information that they cannot export motors outside Argentina.

I may follow up with questions about kits, since they do have some nice looking ones.

I've made attempts to purchase from them in the past without success. The problem is that they use the Latin American version of PayPal called Mercado Pago. The system allows you to put in your credit card information but then requires your Argentine ID number to verify your identity. There's no provision for paying with a credit card from the United States. If you do contact them and see if perhaps they come up with a new way to pay for their items from the United States.
