Default PO'd at the P.O.

My latest Semroc order arrived yesterday with the box looking like it had been used as the ball in a rugby game. Three kits were included, and all three had crushed tubes. Anyone have experience with filing claims with the post office? The website is a nightmare and none of the numbers I have seem to be the one they want.

I once had to put in a claim for a damaged shipment from Bellevue Hobbies.

To be honest, Bellvue had done a horrible packing job, but damage is damage, and it was insured.

I went to the local post office. Someone there looked things over, and accepted my accounting of what needed to be replaced. They in turn got in touch with Bellevue.

I eventually got a check.

So: Contact Semroc, then go to you P.O. with the parcel.

Yikes! Malfunction in the Transporter Room? Pile-up in the wormhole? I hear that the deceleration from WF 9.9 can be brutal.

I am sure Sheryl will send a replacement set when she gets up in a few hours. We have never had a successful claim with the Post Office or FedEx. We just send replacements. Saves time and energy. It happens so infrequently, we stopped wasting money on insurance.

When I think malfunction in transporter room, I think Galaxy Quest! I could not eat for a few days after that one.

No, I don't want you guys paying for the P.O. screw-up, Carl. This box had obviously been beneath something heavy for an extended period. (Zog was anxious to get working on the new kits.) I took pictures of everything, and cut new tubes for the damaged ones from my own stock. I'm going to see what kind of reaction I get at the P.O. tomorrow and I'll have my receipt in hand.

Warren would be proud. I've had this on my list of potential rocket names since 2001.

I encourage you to put in a claim. I once ordered a Talking House AM radio transmitter (realtors use them to advertise houses), which arrived damaged but was insured. I walked down the street to my local Post Office with the transmitter and the packaging, filled out an insurance claim form, and was issued a check for the insured amount soon afterward.
