Wilsonville, OR; 11/13.
Last launch of the season, at least for me.
It was overcast, cool, damp, but totally windless in Wilsonville, OR. Besides the eight or so OROC members, 3-4 families and a church group showed up. These "newbies" had PHENOMENAL luck. I caught a few un-secured motors and wrong-igniter-plugs, but for the most part they had their "stuff" together. I saw one non-fatal ballistic flight. No lost rockets or bust-ups. I hope some of them stick with the hobby! I flew: Cloud Buster (1962 MRN plan) on a 1/2 A6-2. "Mrs. Hustler", slight downscale of Hustler, on a D12-5. Twice. Perfect, moderately slow-rise flights. Semroc Arcon, on an A8-3. BMS Viking I re-release. A8-3, B6-4. I really like this model. A great flyer. Last edited by stefanj : 11-13-2011 at 09:48 PM. |

Too late to correct that typo!
Edit: Five of my six flights used hand-wound nichrome igniters. I gave one igniter to a kid. I feel like I'm finally digging my way out of my great Estes- igniter deficit. Last edited by stefanj : 11-13-2011 at 10:09 PM. |
