The cert documents for the Q-Jet A3 and B4 motors.

Nope. Logged on. I can see his other posts. He either deleted it or has the wrong permissions on it.

Maybe the page is cached. I get on FB about two or three times a year. I got this: "Sorry, this content isn't available right now. The link you followed may have expired, or the page may only be visible to an audience you're not in."

I have to assume he has the wrong permissions on that post, then.

I can see "At Coronado Beach with Lyra", "Bryce Canyon....", his Cover Photo of the 1340/20 rocket, photo of some F67s, picture of outside of Houston Saturn V building, "it doesn't get better than this".

The Aerotech page has the NARCON press release, and a description of the TMT data for the B4 motors.

I got what you are seeing by chopping the end off Fred's link off and making it https://www.facebook.com/grosenfield

I just found Quest's new Q-Jet motors on their site, which I hadn't checked for a while (it's running some sort of countdown clock: www.questaerospace.com [maybe for the availability of other, more powerful impulse class Q-Jet motors?]), and then I found this thread. While I can understand the puzzlement over "A" and "B" 18 mm composite motors, the exhaust plume options they will make possible (such as black smoke, yellow flame [from White Lightning-type propellant], etc.) will be nice for realistic effects when flown in scale models, as well as easy tracking. The black smoke (with Black Jack-type propellant) would also produce interesting "wide trail" effects in ducted rocket models (of which there are also scale subjects), and:

Regarding the "cool appearance" (as they look on display in stores) factor that was mentioned above, I heartily agree! The Q-Jet motors' labels have an "old school" look; the colors and the geometric devices (in the heraldic meaning of "device") reminds me of the 1960s and 1970s Centuri and Energet motors and catalogs (the 1960s Centuri catalogs used a similar burnt orange-and-white color combination on the pages).

The “countdown clock” was for when you could pre-order them....two weeks ago now. Notice it’s counting up...

As I recall from the other info on these motors (at NARCON), the propellant is the the black smoke formula (not called black jack anymore but at the moment I can’t remember what it IS called).

Black Max

One reason it was chosen is that it is easy to light.

That sounds more like a "scolding clock" or a "rubbing it in clock" (like when Yakov Smirnoff mentioned that when he had just emigrated here, he saw a newspaper ad that said "Big Sale--Last Week!", and thought it was "rubbing it in" to people who had missed the previous week's sale...). :-)

Yes, this listing (see: http://www.questaerospace.com/2-Pac...5_18338149.aspx ) says that it's called Black Max propellant; since the "thrust smoke" is black, maybe the delay tracking smoke is even more conspicuous against the sky.

Looks like GH finally got his wish for a B14 with the Q-Jet C14.
