Excellent build aside, the cone always reminded me of this Nimrod version:

I think just shortening the lower bulb would help it a lot. It would be a good project for someone with some junk nose cones laying around to see if something could be cooked up to look more pleasing to the eye. All that said, I'll probably end up with one in the ever expanding build pile one of these days.

That IS an uncanny resemblance! "Good night Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are."

A Nimrod ! I saw one of those at an air show at Scott AFB outside St Louis way back in the 80's or 90's.

That's the airplane (de Havilland Comet) that discovered metal fatigue

It was the first operational jet passenger plane as I understand it. But when its airframe issues began happening, Boeing's 707 took over leadership in the market.

There's a C-130 version that has a schnoz almost as ugly as that. It's called Combat Talon. (MC-130).

That's very ugly, but IMO possibly the most butt-ugly aircraft ever produced was the (German) Dornier "Anteater".

Jeffy,

Beautiful build as usual.

Here's ugly! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transavia_PL-12_Airtruk

Functional is good however...

Looks great as usual, I see she is up for sale on eBay. I am impressed that you are able to assemble the rocket they apply the sanding sealer and sand everything nice and smooth.

Thanks!

ONE of them is up for sale. I'll keep the other. When I do a build thread I often build (2) models at once--especially when it's a complex one like this was.
