Estes Generic E2X vs Scorpion (1333)
Does anyone know if the Generic E2X uses the same fin unit that was on the scorpion? I've called Estes and was told that all their kits come from China and they don't know if the fin units are same. I would like to make around 20 the Scorpions and order the decals from Excelsior Rocketry.

They are the same, as is the Skywriter. Slightly swept leading edge and wedge shaped airfoil. Many older kits such as the Challenger 1 had a rectangular shaped fin with a diamond airfoil.

I cloned a Scorpion from Skywriter/Generic cans - It turned out ok, thanks to Excelsior's decals:
This is one of my favorite 2 stagers - I like the "research" styling.

Not really a question here, more of a solicitation of opinion. I just cloned the Scorpion (everything but the parachute), and if memory serves the face card and the catalog show it with a red bottom portion. The instructions call for orange, though. Does anyone prefer one over the other?
