Thanks. The 10X is quite a project. Love it! Not sure what you do with a rocket that size after launch, but I guess you worry about that later! I would probably tell my wife and kids its our new christmas tree and stick in the middle of the living room year round!

Would make for a good indoor 'yard ornament' or centerpiece of a game room. Weatherproofed it would make a cool year-round roof decoration.

I figure a motor the size of a GARBAGE CAN would be just about correct for flying that thing.

Most likey International Orange is referring to the Federal Standard color which is FS 12197. Most hobby lines of model paint has this color.

I dug out one of my jars of Testors Competition Orange Dope.
It's the same color as their Enamel, and their old "International Orange" dope.

What paint did you decide to go with ?

I think that 10X Mars Lander uses automotive suspension coil springs for the leg spring-action

I have not decided yet. This is what I got from the hobby shop. The Aero Gloss was free! Discontinued and they give it away as people need it. I got the last two bottles. What do think of these most matches what Estes meant when they said to use International Orange?

Thanks again for your help!

Ben
