Now that you've been using Brodak for a while, how do you like it? BTW, enjoy seeing your vintage builds.

When I stumbled upon the hobby shop closing in Arlington in 1994, the Solar Warrior was one of the kits that my brother in law picked up for pennies. He's since built it in several forms, regular, upscale, and stretched. I always thought he might try to do one as his level 1 bird.

Loved the Solar Warrior design.

In addition to the original (bt-20), many years ago, I had downscaled it to bt-5 and upscaled it to bt-50, bt-56, bt-60, 2.14", and 3".

Most of those are now either lost, destroyed, or retired. The 3" version usually flew on either I211 or I300 motors.

Curious: what is their exact procedure for gluing on the pods? Glue the pylon to the BT first, then glue on the pod? Or pod to pylon, then assembly to BT?

I haven't yet figured out the "optimum" way of doing this. On a recent build I mounted thin strips of wood to the pods, then glued those strips to the pylons after the latter were installed.

According to the instructions, wings to airframe then pods to wing tips. http://plans.rocketshoppe.com/estes/est0895/est0895.pdf
