Seattle Museum of Flight Cineroc Question...
I just picked up the latest issue of Sports Rocketry, and noticed that there's a photo that includes the Camroc, and the Cineroc, as well as other rockets. I spotted that there's a decal on the side of the Omega that doesn't look like the usual decal we've seen on Omegas (seen below (less the DV part)):
Does anybody have a tighter photo that Omega that shows what it says? Other photos of that display would be cool too.

I think I do-some Vern sent me. BTW-the MARK Kit on Vern's Wooden Electro Launch is one I built & sent him--he used it for Display on it. Also , Gleda Fell last week & cracked a Vertebrae in her neck. Prayers all for her. Vern said she should fully recover in time......

Thanks, Joe. Guess is why he used it,,, ha. No really, I had been talking with Vern and sending him kits & he sending me signed kits (yippie) for some time. He asked for donations for MOF. Good news is this is an Original K Kit K-2 I opened & sacrificed for the Good of the Museum. Heres a Pic of just 1 kit he sent me, from his personal collection. Sorry, not to brag, but whats the fun if you cant show ??! Also-U can see the Merc. Capsule I mentioned in another thread. Danny.

Sorry for the late reply on this, but I did get some information on the Omega model. It was built by longtime NAR member and stalwart volunteer Jim Pommert of Washington Aerospace Club specifically for the exhibit. He used Excelsior decals for the build since the Estes originals were shot after 40 years.
As it turns out the case height was a bit short to exhibit the Omega in two stage configuration. Some minor surgery might be attempted in future to permit the addition of the booster stage. Danny's Mark DOES look great in the exhibit along with the rocket contributions of many other NAR modelers both young and old from across the country. The look on the faces of the assembled folks at the exhibit dedication during NARCON was priceless. I saw grown men moved to the verge of tears and I personally had a serious case of goosebumps. Your idea of uploading some professional images of the exhibit is a good one. There are some fantastic and historic models in there. |

I was one of those. I had the NAR Championship Section banner in my dorm room the second semester of my senior year; the holes left by the pins holding it to my bulletin board were still in it.

Danny, Very cool -- being "pen pals" with Vern Estes. Have you shared this story before? I'd love to hear about how that came about, and I'm guessing plenty others would, as well. And by the way, I'll chime in too on the Mark. Nice job!
