I have the SA-5 and SA-7 and have the 1b ordered. These are the smoothest 3D printed models to come from Boyce-Aerospace.

My one advice to anyone is to use WHITE primer and WHITE filler putty for filling in the surfaces. If you use gray or reddish primer or filler it is hard to cover up with white paint and you have to use more paint to cover these colors up.

These are builder models. Not overnight builds and out to the field to fly.

My two cents worth.

Which white primer do you recommend to get good adhesion to the plastic?

When DARS did the Saturn 1B builds for the Apollo 7 50th Anniversary, we used the Tamiya primer that can be obtained from Hobby Lobby. We used two different types of 3D printed materials.

For a primer, I like to use KRYLON and I have used Rust-Oleum also Tamiya. I have good luck with all these. I can find these at local hardware stores and Tamiya at Hobby Lobby.

The white putty I use is Tamiya from Hobby Lobby. I also have used Squadron white putty but I have to order it.

I get good results from all these products. I like to let my primer and putty dry for a day or two before I start sanding.
