a note to folks thinking of buying a 'Goblin', it is very easy to lose when flown on the recommended first flight motor(D12-5)...it flies nicely on 18mm motors(with adaptor), A8-3s work well .

Did anybody notice that there is another new kit listed in the Estes coming soon area?

http://www.estesrockets.com/coming-...s-iitm-saharatm

It's another web exclusive like the Scion. Not available yet.

The Sahara looks nice. Likely another parts disposal vehicle.

The checkerboard pattern will be difficult to produce.

I flew the new Estes Goblin kit this past Saturday.

Only used a B6-4 motor but the model performed just fine.

Mono Kote has checkered adhesive film. I've seen it in black, I don't know if there's blue.

Looks like no , but there's Ultracote. Of course a package of it will set you back nearly as much as the Sahara kit.

Or you could paint blue and then start cutting and applying white trim MonoKote squares...

Or paint blue and use white/clear checked Monocoat.

I believe the hope for the B14 died with the passing of Carl at Semroc.
He was the only one I was aware of that was actually willing to undertake production of port-burners. Unfortunately, this most likely won't ever happen unless the rebirth of FSI (VERY skeptical to this) ever happens.
