STUDY SUMMARY: Saturn C-5 and Nova with Various Chemical and Nuclear 3rd Stages
Here's an interesting short study from June of 1962... The full title is "Payload, Cost, and Reliability Analysis of Saturn C-5 and Nova with Various Nuclear and Chemical Third Stages". There's some interesting graphics of the early Saturn C-5 and Nova proposals and some dimensioned drawings (in page-size segments, and unfortunately partially faded out or flaked off toner from poor reproductions) showing the structures of the NERVA nuclear rocket stage and NERVA engine reactor chamber and nozzles. There's also some interesting information that I summarized in the study summary as well on the NERVA stage and the Saturn C-5 and Nova rockets.
Enjoy! OL JR

Luke this one and all the summary studies you have posted are great. However, is there a complete, available online version of each summary that you've posted? I'd love to dwelve into the details of this one!

Yes, all the studies I summarize I've gotten off the net... some of them were from the NASA Technical Resource Server... of course that was prior to them shutting it down and making a bunch of changes, removing documents that had been out for anybody to download and send around at will for months or years... but since when does what the gubmint do make sense??
Your best bet is to google the title of the thread and any numbers that I include at the top of the summary (NASA TR numbers or document numbers) right under the official complete title as it appeared on the cover of the summary. That should lead you to an online copy of it that you can download and/or read in its entirety. Finding anything directly on the NTRS is kind of hit-n-miss IMHO... Good luck and happy hunting! OL J R
