Default Will wonders never cease?

I went by my local Wal-Mart to check the status of the motors they've had in the clearance ailse for two months for $4.97 (A10-3Ts, C6-3s, C6-5s, C6-7s). They were marked down to $2.50, except the C6-5s which were marked down to $3.00. Of course, I had to o check on the price of the motors in the toy department too. Guess what? They were all marked down to $2.50 also (A8-3s, B4-4s, B6-4s). I left a few just in case they want to mark them down to $1 next week........

Lucky you! Went by 2 of the *Marts around here and one still doesn't have any stock of motors in and the local one has motors but at $6.97 a pack! Glad I stocked up when I could get them for $3/pack

I hate you.

I check another of our local WM's and they FINALLY have the new two tier box... full of C6-3's and C6-5's just like always. And the price is still $4.95.

Don't read this then..........

Went back today just to make sure I didn't miss any. No more left in the clearance ailse. Went to the toy section and they had the regular new stuff there in the two-tier box.....A8-3s, B4-4s and B6-4s. They were still ringing up for $2.50 yesterday when I got the others for 25 cents. Put them to the scanner.......25 cents! Needless to say, there are no more rocket motors on the shelves..... Wonder if they plan to re-stock tonight......

I made a trip to my local rocket-friendly Wal*Mart yesterday and checked the motor supply. Still plenty of motors left in the two displays so I only bought two A8-3s @ $4.97 each as my personal "park motor" supply was getting low. Beginning to think I'm the only one buying these motors at this store and I should probably wait until they go on clearance sale.

I also checked the fishing tackle aisle and finally found the swivels display area re-stocked after having been empty for at least three weeks. Bought a pack of Mustad brand #5 Barrel Swivels w Coastlock and a pack of #3 Barrels both at $1.17. and 12 to the pack. That's about half the price of the local grocery store's offerings.

Went to one of my local Wal - Mart (have four with-in easy driving distance), the one my wife works at, and discovered they have a pretty good supply of engines. Four displays,
with plenty of A10-3T's, A8-3's, B4-4's, B6-4's, C6-3's and C6-5's priced at $4.97 per pack.
Not bad!!

I just tried, for the first time, some Quest B6-4's I got online. It was great not having to run 5 blocks chasing a chute in the wind! I didn't know they were narrower than Estes engines. I had to tape the crap out of them. And put in a 1/16th shim at the top. Good thing I have plenty of scrap plastic around...

Default Trying to keep this thread alive......

Well, spent the day driving around. In the process, stopped at three Walmarts. The first one had rocket motors shelf priced at $4.97 but scanned at $3. Huge selection, mostly old stock, but I just couldn't get myself to pay that much for them.

The second Walmart was just an after thought stop. Had C6-3s, 5s and 7s. 21 packages total. Shelf price was a whopping $6.97. Man, I thought, the era of cheap motors was over for the year. I went ahead and scanned them anyway. What a surprise. The C6-3s scanned at 98 cents and the rest scanned at a dollar. Needless to say, I left the store with 21 motors and one of the new style double stacked display boxes. They didn't need it anymore anyway....

The third Walmart was one I had passed earlier in the day since my granddaughter was serenely sleeping when we drove by. A quick check found only two packs of C6-3s but they scanned at a dollar each so I figured there was no sense leaving them on the shelf.

Never did see any of the new "Sustainables". I guess I'll check some of the local places tomorrow. Nothing better to do when the rain is pouring down. Sure am glad I spent Thursday and Friday patching my roof......
