Could be another one of the situations he left for college, went straight to a job only to return years later to find his stuff stored in the attic by parents or younger siblings. I can't imagine anyone that has built rockets take such blatant care of kits they built.

Unless there are some unbuilt, _intact_ kits in the bags shown, I can't see it being worth more than that. The bags all look used up to me.
