Default Model Rocket History: Herb Desind

Hi, All,
I have spent the last couple of days locating and putting together all of the material I have - letters and photos - concerning my correspondence-based friendship with Herb Desind ('Mr. Cineroc'), back in the late 70s. Rather than post all of this on the forum, I invite you to visit my blog (link below), where I will be posting this stuff in a series spanning the next few weeks.

I roomed with Herb at NARAM-20. He put cineroc's on my rockets at LDRS 1,2,3. I would beg the planet for scans of his films and would cheerfully pay to have them scanned. The folks who put him in my room thought they were hazing me. I liked him.

Hi, Jerry,
I know that somewhere in the vast repository of junk in my basement (similar to the warehouse scene at the end of Indiana Jones), there resides somewhere a box containing some film reels of flights I made for Herb here in Colorado. Of course, these wouldn't be of any flights Herb made himself, but were flown using one of his specially modded cameras. Copies of them may be part of the Cineroc flight films in his vast collection, where-ever that may be. I will search for these and take them to one of the outfits that can convert 8mm to CDRom. I don't even remember what's on them, since I haven't seen them since the late 70s.
Once converted, I can make them available.
By the way, are you planning on being at NARAM-60?
If all goes well, I plan on being there for the NAR re-union of which Trip Barber has been posting.
Thanks for your reply.
