FINALLY!!! It was windy, just up to the limit, but I still managed five flights, all of them Goony. Flying leadoff was the GARGANTUAN Galaxy Guppy on an E9-6. A huge windcock off the pad, but not huge enough.

I had a pretty big nylon chute in it, and it started drifting heavily. I wound up chasing it to the other side of the lake and was climbing the fence to leave the park when two kids on bikes rode up with the rocket. I felt so good that I helped an RC flier find his missing glider. (In the lake, but recovered and it will fly again.) The big fish apparently hit the path and sprung a fin, but it's easily fixable and will fly again. It also had a little scorching on the bottom of the fins, but I call that personality.

Second flight was the Super Zoom Broom, also on an E9-6. This one was a marginal choice with the wind conditions, but god hates a coward.

It windcocked severely to the southeast, and recovered deep in the veggies without damage. I was pumped.

Based on the flight performance and lack of damage, this one flew two more times on the day, both on E9-6s, both were great flights with no damage.

The final Goony of the day was the Cloud Hopper upscale that I built in 2002.

I was out of D12-5s, so I went with a C11-5. The flight was somewhat underpowered, but still decent.

Recovery was great until the 100' point when the five year old elastic snapped. The bunny head recovered fine, but its butt fell to the ground and snapped off a fin. Considering the potential for damage, I considered myself lucky. I'll replace the elastic and try it again on a D.

*I* thought it was "V for Victory," reminiscent of one Winston Churchill.

But again, that's just *me.*

Cheers,
