Sad news about Ed Brown
Matt Steele gave me permission to post his statement from Facebook:
It is with great sadness that I must pass on to the group that my good friend "Ed" Edwin Brown passed away today after a long illness. Ed was responsible for overseeing the production of almost every Estes model rocket motors you have ever flown. He started at Estes as a machinist, working for Vern, but eventually ended up over all motor production. He probably knew more about black powder model rocket engines than anyone one else. He was always a true gentleman. He will be missed.

I just learned about this. Between about 2005 and 2008 I spoke almost daily (via Email mostly)with Ed Brown and basically picked his brain for everything he knew about black powder motors and Estes Mabel history.
WE went in together to purchase the federal case file of Estes vs Carlisle. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/c...04136&fhid=3551 Ad Astra Ed
