Default Der Saturn Max flies at NARAM-60

Maiden flight of the DSM was picture perfect in Pueblo on Sunday.

I chose an E18-4 White Lightning reload in the 24/40 RMS. Nice liftoff, a climb to about 500 feet so the crowd could view the entire flight, and a scary landing just off the gravelled launch area! But no damage, just a few minor paint chips.

Thanks for the nice words!

A little slow to reply. We went from NARAM to driving to Banff in Canada. Just dropped in to see what’s happening. I’m ready to be home for awhile and just work on some rockets.

Fred, great to finally meet you!

Jerry, we met in Hartsel back in the 90s but good to see you again! (OK, Jerry didn’t post in this thread, but we met again...)

David (Daddyisabar), maybe I’ll see you at an upcoming CRASH or SCORE launch soon!

Verna, sorry you could not come out to NARAM!

Did I forget anyone? ...Well, hope to meet more of you sometime!

I saw it live! Strange rocket concept. Made my brain hurt.

I love it! Great job on Der Saturn Max! I'd still like to see it on all engines.

I've said for years Estes should make their Saturn V a permanent offering. There are so many other things that can be done with the parts other than the standard Saturn V build.

Jerry, if the Der Max makes your head hurt my USS PANDORA must give you a migraine.

Yes, it flies on a D and 4 C's.

Verna,

Love the Pandora. But, I’m worried about Jerry. It’s been a week, and no reply. Maybe he really had a bad reaction after the 1-2 punch from the “Saturn Sacrileges”?

From 1970 to 1985 the Estes K-36/1236 Saturn V was a "permanent" offering.
I'm of the opinion that all the Mercury/Gemini/Apollo/Space Shuttle scale kits should be brought back permanently....as well as the Nike Ajax and Pershing 1A.
Could care less if we ever get another V2 or Nike Smoke ever again.
About 20 years ago Estes displayed a huge 1/46 Saturn 1B that was about 7.5" in diameter that they were hinting at kitting. THAT one should be offered for G thru I power.

Yes, there is such a thing as NORMAL
, if you have to ask what is "NORMAL" , you probably aren't !

Failure may not be an OPTION, but it is ALWAYS a POSSIBILITY.
ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

I hope not, it just wouldn't be the same without Jerry.
