Looking For Body Tubes
I recently purchased a lot on Ebay that had a couple of fairly obscure kits..........an OMEGA (manufacturer unknown...........can anyone help?) and a CMR (Central Model Rocket Company?) Resling. Both of the kits have issues...........the OMEGA is missing its main body tube (BT-20 size, white, no glassine cover, 11" long); the Resling has a crunched main body tube (BT-20 size, white, no glassine, 16" in length).
So I'm looking to acquire tubes that fit the above description to make these kits complete again. Either buy or trade would be fine with me. Photos of the two kits attached. Please PM me if you have what I need or know where the tubes can be obtained. Thanks! joe |

Is it the Omega III from Space Age Industries?

CMR stands for Competition Model Rockets, a company that has been out of business for some time and I have no idea if tubes are available. Please PM me if you are interested in selling it. Good luck and happy hunting.

Cool old kits! Scan up the instructions and fin templates when you have time and send them my way if you would. I believe that Omega is an Omega III from SAI. It's possible that the tubes from Pitsco might work. Some come white, others brown from what I've seen in the past. I don't recall a glassine coating on them. http://www.pitsco.com/Aerospace/Roc...Fuel/Body_Tubes

Are you sure the Resling has a "BT-20" sized tube? I see that it has a rear ejection motor mount, which means it either has a mini motor or a larger diameter tube.
CMR used tubes similar to FSI's for many of its models. This means it could be a FSI .903" ID / .921" ID tube. Semroc MIGHT be able to help there. Another possibility is that this is a MPC/Quest 25mm tube. Get out your calipers! In any case . . . scan everything! You've made quite a find.

I think the CMR Resling is pretty rare - not in any Catalogue that I know of. Possibly a NARAM kit? Does anyone know the background? I may have a tube for you Joe - I'll check when I get home tonight. S.

I don't recognize it either. It may be from the Pearl River seminar. I know CMR used to do the kits for them for a lot of years. Looking at what I can see of the instruction sheet, I would guess that the crunched tube is an RB-77, in which case a Quest T-20 would be a reasonable substitute if you can't get a CMR tube.

BMS sells a T-20Q, a standard tube with the same dimensions as the MPC/Quest 20mm tube.
I'm not sure if anyone, perhaps Quest included, makes a tube just like the old MPC tubes, in terms of construction. They were very tough, with a sandable outer wrapper.
