As mentioned elsewhere either here or on TRF, either Steve Jurvetson or the guys in charge of the SpaceX model rocket at SpaceX have built and flown prototypes with varying degrees of success. I think Steve tried it with the V1.0 kit but used only four fins and had stability issues.

Well, I was on the right track, leave the fins on the center and extend the fairing. I was NOT thinking three D cluster at least for the first flight test version as that is a lot of weight at the tail.

Also, I notice that the Heavy has the conduits rotated to the outside so the markings of the kit will not work. So adding the outboard Falcons with standard BT60 is the way to go; is there heavy-walled BT-60 for sale to the public somewhere? But you still need the kit for the 24mm mount and the clear fins and the second stage and fairing.

Hmmm . . . . .
