Default Vintage Estes Voyager II

Here is my next vintage build, have not seen too many of these built but looks like a cool rocket. The parts are in pretty good shape but Estes used soft balsa in this kit. Oh well, that is what you get when you built vintage kits. I know some of you have asked me to scan the parts and decals, but currently I do not have a scanner. I don't know when I will buying one so sorry about not scanning my current builds.

You can compare your model to the data (measurements) here:
http://www.spacemodeling.org/jimz/est2000.htm

There's already a decal scan.

You don't need a scanner to document the parts in your builds. Any critical parts, dimensions, decal sheets can be photographed, close up, with a ruler. That's good data that's better than nothing. Post the pics in your vintage build threads.

One of my favorite rockets that's always given good flights. Mine is starting to show a little wear after nearly 25 years though.

I have the Voyager II all built with 3 coats of balsa sealer and she is ready for paint.

Great build! Looking forward to the finished pictures.

Those fin fairings are interesting, really add a lot to the design.

The fin fairings are really thin glossy paper, but they worked out just fine. Here she is done and ready for flight, no issues with painting other than masking the canopy is a pain, but at least the decals went on nice and easy.
