Default Congrats to BLOWhio

Congrats to the BLOWhio SUCKeyes from BUMumbus 62-39 over my Wolverines.

Your team outplayed us and out coached us.
The refs for a change had NOTHING to do with us losing; we got favorable calls and ball spotting the entire game.
So much for our supposed "#1" Defense...it was exposed as a FRAUD.
Our defense more than anything cost us the game; anytime you put up 400+ yards and 39 points you should win if the defense is even moderately competent.
Our QB Patterson SUCKS; 80% of all passes were underthrown.
Peters should have replaced him at the end of the 1st quarter.

That stadium is still a TOILET SEAT covering fans fit for a SEPTIC TANK.

Speaking of high scoring games: A&M squeaked out a 74-72 win over LSU in SEVEN overtimes. Both defenses were absolutely exhausted. Both QB's were stellar and both teams had amazing catches, especially #13 for A&M. LSU's defense was playing with about half of their starters. I hated to see either team lose, though I'm not a fan of either team unless they are playing a non-SEC opponent.

I have had the pleasure of not suffering thru any football games. But ... it has come at a cost. My wife has had complete control of the TV remote and it’s been 24/7 Hallmark Christmas movies for weeks ...

I saw that. 7 overtimes is noteworthy, no doubt. But, with ESPN on, I keep hearing about the score being a record. And I keep thinking they better put some asterisks on that - most of those points happened in overtime, a latter day feature of college football

The me, the really big score of the weekend was Oklahoma over WVU, 59-56, in _regulation_ !

It will be interesting now to see who gets the 4th invitation to the playoff - Georgia, Oklahoma, Ohio State or maybe UCF. Oklahoma must beat Texas, Ohio State has to get past Northwestern, and I expect the SEC championship game to eliminate Georgia. The next week will be very interesting

Doug

I'd like a further expansion to six teams, with #1 and #2 getting a bye through the first weekend of playoffs, and the other four playing off to decide the final four. You could even make an argument for a final eight, with all eight participating 1 versus 8, 2 versus 7, etc. in the first weekend. Every year, there seems to be a bubble of apparently worthy teams that are excluded, with plenty of controversy as to why this team or that one should have been given a chance at the title.

I think it is high time we have an 8-team college playoff.
That would virtually eliminate the chance of a worthy team not getting in.

Expanded playoffs will mean even more games to be played unless regular seasons are cut shorter. The current 12+ games is pretty hard on young guys, and it shows in the NFL when most rookies hit a wall before the end of the regular season. I'm not saying I'm for or against expanding playoffs. I'm just noting it has a cost. BTW, if we go to 6 or 8, there will be a 9th and 10th team looking in that "everybody knows" is better than the last two teams to make the cut.

Yeah, I get that too. But my reason for an expansion of the playoff format is to give a chance to a team that just might be good enough to go all the way. Once you get down to tenth, I doubt it. Can you see #10 knocking off Alabama or Clemson in the big game? So the idea is not to expand for more games and more dollars. And yes, it's hard on young guys, but it's once in a lifetime for most of them. And young guys recuperate really quickly.

Exactly. And that 12+ will certainly amount to 13...before the tournament starts, since nearly all the teams going into the tournament come from conferences with championship games, Notre Dame being one exception that comes to mind.

If any more teams are added, the additional round(s) of games will likely conflict with finals, or push games into the spring semester.

Start the season two weeks earlier.
