Name of exposed frame between stages?
What is the term for the exposed cage or framework sometimes seen between stages of some rockets? The Vostok and Long March 3 series rockets have them, as do others. What is that called?

ECF ... i.e., "Exposed Cage / Framework" "Interstage" or "Interstage Lattice" are occasionally used, too.

Some call it a thrust structure but you are generally pretty cool by going with an interstage. The former term can be associated with the struts used to support various engine bells (early Titans are visible, while later Atlas are shrouded. Interstage applies to anything which serves to mate or join two distinct stages of a vehicle. I would be careful of the term lattice as applied to the Russian and Chinese boosters though - a lattice usually overlaps. The thrust members on both of those launch vehicles abut each other producing a truss. I am not sure if a planar truss which is circular is technically a space truss

With all proper nomenclature aside: Inter-Stage Reinforcing and Support Brackets.

"Open interstage structure" is what I would call it. The Titan also had one.

When constructing one on a model I often refer to it as a "$%@# piece of &%$#".

I've always called it "interstage lattice". Or in the case of a malfunction: "bar-b-cue grill."
