transition size???????
Buba is cloning Estes' Bull pup 12D. So far, so good. I will be making two of these because I have 2 nose cones. What I don't have is the tail cones. So, what I need is the length measurement of the tail so I can make a paper transition cone or two. I want to see what a D engine will do in a Bull Pup so I may have to tweek the diameter just a little on the back end. Any information on that length measurement would be appreciated. Thanks Y'all.

I think I might still have a tailcone or two laying around from the $.88 Meijer Bullpup Launchables heist of a few years ago. I'll check and if I still do, I'll send you one.

Alec, not sure if you are aware of JimZ site for cloning...I found the Bullpup here http://www.spacemodeling.org/JimZ/e...12D/est1972.pdf -- according to the instructions, the tail cone is 1.125" long. The small diameter is designed to fit BT-50 tubes, so it could be used w/ a D engine.
BTW another good cloning site is http://www.rocketshoppe.com/ , a cousin of this forum |

Walked into my shop when I got home from work and there it sat. It was like it knew it was going to be taking a trip. I checked my e-mail, but couldn't find anything. You might want to send it via PM. Lots more reliable.

I have one. Obviously it's BT55 to BT50. The linear disance from shoulder to shoulder is exactly 1.134"

Thanks, but I think we've got this taken care of. I plan to try my luck with the paper thing soaked up with CA glue for one of them. Have you had any luck with that? I think it will make for an interesting thread to post as I progress in the build. |
