People that pay that amount of $$$ for a small box containing a plastic nose/fin 3FNC rocket should be certified INSANE.

I would barely pay that for an Enerjet Athena.

ALL systems are GO for MAYHEM, CHAOS, and HAVOC !

Agreed, albeit this is an extreme case as most Quasars sell for somewhat less, it does show that there is a market out there of which I wish Estes or Semroc/eRockets would take advantage by offering a reissue. Certainly not for $300, but I would certainly buy a KC-1 reissue for $30.

Which version? The initial chrome-plated nose cone and fin unit or the later unplated white versions? I believe the body tube wrap did not change during the production run.

The boxed ones all had the Chrome nose/Chrome clipped Alpha III fin unit.
The bagged ones had white nose cones with non-clipped white Alpha III fin units.
Body wrapp was the same in all packages.
NEITHER are EVER worth $300 in ANY condition including pristine ones signed by Vern !

The first rocket I ever built was a bagged Quasar way back in '77.
I may still have a piece or two of it somewhere.

The original chrome ones were catalog number KC-1. The later gray, white, clipped and unclipped versions were catalog number 0650. I would really like to see the KC-1 reissued.
