I have a 2-piece on a built rocket, but it isn't readily acceassable now. I hope this helps you.

I knew I posted a side-by-side pic here somewhere!

These are the following rockets I have with the two pieced PNC-60, Der Red Max Box version, Renegade and Patriot. I will look for the instructions.

Thanks! It would be fun to look at these old instructions and kits to see how much different they looked to their later versions.

I know you had a two piece PNC-60AH Omega at one time too. Did something happen to it?

If anything, I'd say the shape looks more like it may have been a balsa nosecone used in prototyping instead of the production models.

That would be my guess also. Due to the nature of the cutting heads used at the time, there could be definite differences in the balsa cones. The cutting heads were similar to stacked hacksaw blades, and would wear over time resulting in slightly changing profiles. This is why a cone from Semroc and one from BMS that should be the same, may be different. It depends on the example they had available.
