What is this?
On eBay there is a very overpriced auction for some old Estes equipment. However there is a plunger type launch controller I have never seen before. Not that I am an expert but I've seen most launch equipment, but not this. Anyone care to ID it? See the attached photo. It does not appear to be vintage. NOTE: I am having trouble attaching the picture so in case that never works the auction ID is 321069281917.

that does look like it.....back in the day with a long Extension cord We used a Aurora N Scale train Transformer as a power supply at a launch...so maybe it got "repurposed" |

Defininately not a Centuri Servo launcher controller. Looks like a repurpose of some other piece of electrical equipment of some type. Looks like a brand name or product name on one end (Tradesman?), and a voltage rating sticker on the other end (max 30 volts, or some such).

Looks like some cheap brand firework/explosives detonator/controllor.

OK, so... I read what it said on the side of it... "tradeship" and added "plunger controller", and Googled it:

A magneto launcher (either like a hand-cranked army field telephone, or a "T-handle" dynamite detonator) would be very useful, as it wouldn't require batteries. If a magneto wouldn't do the job by itself, it could be used to charge one or more capacitors, which could be discharged to fire the igniter or igniters.
